Historical: Singing the Stabat Mater every Good Friday was part of the culture in Tanay. Members of Catholic Church of the town can truly commemorate the Virgin Marys experience of sorrow at the crucifixion of his Son, Jesus Christ. It is a holy practice that has long been performed in Tanay.

Socio Political: The Tanay version of Stabat Mater was aesthetically significant. The Tanayans sing the Stabat Mater through Callahora in Latin words with the solemn music of violins, drums, cymbals, flute, and trumpets.

Social: The social significance of the Stabat Mater in Tanay is that it unites the people by singing together. The act of Santo Entierro and Mater Dolorosa coinciding and the people singing in unity is beauty itself. It brings the people of Tanay together in one place and with one goal which is to ignite their religiosity with the knowledge of knowing what Mary with Jesus crucifixion.

Condition: Due to the pandemic, the Stabat Mater has not been performed for two years now.

Conservation Issues: The procession of saints and religious images stopped due to the pandemic, as well as the Stabat Mater. One of the threats is when the people already forget the practice or the lack of transmission to the younger generation. Aside from this, the younger generation may also lack the interest in participating on matters concerning religion.
